Helping you get a better energy deal

It doesn’t matter if you are an industry expert or a complete novice, if you haven’t checked your offer recently, you can save money by comparing your energy bill and finding the best deal for your needs.

There is no better time to engage with the energy retail market and get a cheaper deal.

The latest independent assessment of retail electricity markets has reinforced the ongoing value of competition and market deals in helping customers cut their energy bills. The Australian Energy Market Commission’s Residential Electricity Price Trends 2021 Report expects market deal prices to continue to fall over the three-year period to 2023-24.

“The AEMC’s report is confirmation that customers can make savings by shopping around,” said Chief Executive Sarah McNamara.

The Australian Energy Council is today launching an ‘It’s Easy To Switch’ campaign aimed at retail customers.

Central to this is a short, easy to understand animation walking customers through the switching process using the free and independent government-run comparison sites. In Victoria it’s Energy Compare, and Energy Made Easy for customers in NSW, Queensland, SA, Tasmania and the ACT (be careful of imitation sites though, the websites are: https://compare.energy.vic.gov.au/  and https://www.energymadeeasy.gov.au/).

These government comparison sites make engaging with the retail market easy. For people with a smart meter on the east coast of Australia, choosing a new electricity retail offer is an even simpler choice because your site-specific data is plugged into the comparator site and analysed to locate the best deal for you.

A link to these animations is below – you might be surprised just how easy finding a cheaper deal for your circumstances is:
